I’m sure you’ve seen or heard of the Louis Vuitton “Maroquinaris Zoologicae” by now. British artist Billie Achilleos created each animal using Louis Vuitton’s leather goods. The collection of critters was an instant sensation across the internet. This video from LV and Chameleon Visual shows how a few of the larger animals were made.

I’d like to take some time to tell you about something very important to me.
You see that picture above? It represents how everyone in this world is reaching towards whatever gives them hope.
My thirteen year old little sister drew this. At my urging, she’s made it available for purchase via her Deviant Art. Recently, the computer she uses for artwork has died. She has been trying to save up for a new computer for a very long time. I’d like to help her earn some money for this computer.
If you like the image above, I’d be very grateful if you could purchase a print here.
There are 3 options of print available, ranging in price from $6 to $8. My sister only gets 20% of each sale, but she truly appreciates any interest in her art.
So, if you like the picture, want to support a girl’s dreams of being an artist, want to help the same girl afford a new laptop, and want to make me the happiest big sister ever, please consider buying a print.
Thanks, everyone!

p.s. I will be posting this message multiple times, so please be patient. I do not want to turn Glam into a personal-use tumblr, but I truly have a bigger audience here and this is something very important to me.

Alexis Bittar has stunned with the lookbook for her Resort 2012 collection! Thankfully, it is not difficult to find an artistic lookbook in the fashion world, but this one takes the cake. This is one of the most wonderfully executed collection of images I have seen come out of the industry in a while. I would buy these pictures as prints for my apartment as soon as I would buy the baubles they advertise!

Dutch artists Lernert & Sander have created this wonderfully made video showing what it would look like to wear a whole year’s worth of makeup at once. Model Hannelore Knuts had 365 layers of makeup applied to her face over the course of 9 hours. So, how much makeup makes up a year’s worth? Seven bottles of foundation, two bottles of blush, three lip glosses, and two bottles of cream eyeshadow.

Sometimes I wonder why people do the things they do. Like, in this instance…Art Center College of Design student Nancy Wu has made a replica of the Chanel 2.55 handbag out of beef jerky. Yep, beef jerky.
